Call for Voluntary Particiation for Risk Kan Steering Committee members

The Risk-KAN invites interested experts in relevant fields, from all sectors, (including, but not limited to, government, private sector, NGOs, civil society and academia) to self-nominate for the Steering Committee’s next three-year term (2025-2028).

The Knowledge-Action Network (KAN) on Emergent Risks and Extreme Events (Risk KAN) provides an open platform for scientific communities, policy-makers, educators, civil society, media, industry, and donors, from across science disciplines and engineering, working on extreme events, disaster risk reduction and governance to exchange information, knowledge and data and engage in collaborative research activities. It is a joint initiative of the Future EarthIRDRWCRP and WWRP programmes to address systemic, complex and cascading risks by synthesis of various scientific approaches and products. You can find out more about us on this web page or via our BlueSky.

The first Risk KAN Development Team was formed in 2019 and in its second phase it is growing into a Steering Committee, composed of up to 22 volunteer members, representing different regions, disciplines and sectors of the Risk KAN’s mission.
