‘ANTICIPATE: extended-range multi-hazard predictions and early warnings’ (CA24144) COST Association – European Cooperation in Science and Technology is one of the new COST Actions that have been approved and launched today https://lnkd.in/eWpe4c-H!

The ANTICIPATE COST Action will unite researchers and operational practitioners across Europe working and studying across hashtag#multihazard hashtag#predictions, hashtag#earlywarnings and hashtag#anticipatoryaction. The Action will provide vital leadership, addressing gaps and challenges, building capacity and training the next generation of forecasters and communicators for societal benefit.

ANTICIPATE will initially comprise researchers and practitioners drawn from 26 countries, involving multiple universities and national meteorological forecasting centres including the Met Office, the Veðurstofa Íslands – Icelandic Met Office, UNESCO and the Danmarks Meteorologiske Institut, together with partners drawn from the World Meteorological Organization, the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts – ECMWF, and the Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre.

Over the next 4 years, the ANTICIPATE COST Action will support a wide range of activities that build capacity and support innovation across Europe – with a focus on supporting PhDs and early career researchers – including summer schools, mobility and exchange programs, workshops and conferences.
